ABOUT KEIPA BOODJA
Keipa Boodja has shared Noongar culture with our community through cultural camps, youth programs, and awareness training for many years.
We have conducted Welcome to Country, cultural workshops, and mentoring, leveraging our expertise in mental health, education, land management, tourism, and community services.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
The name ‘Keipa Boodja’ (water land) comes from families who lived at Waterloo during the 1960s and 70s. The Department of Native Welfare had houses built for two families who had previously lived in camps on a farmer’s property in Burekup.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to preserve, share, and strengthen Noongar culture and knowledge, fostering respect and understanding through cultural awareness programs, advocacy, and mentorship. We are committed to empowering our community by working together to ensure the continuation of our rich cultural heritage.

We are guided by the following values:
Cultural Integrity: Upholding the traditions, stories, and knowledge of our ancestors with pride and authenticity.
Community: Supporting and uplifting our people through connection, respect, and shared responsibility.
Education: Fostering cultural understanding and appreciation for all, connecting Noongar culture with the wider community, and empowering individuals to embrace diverse perspectives.
Collaboration: Partnering with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations and communities to promote positive change for our people and the environment, fostering mutual respect and understanding.
